Bridging the Creativity Gap is a collaborative project co-funded by the EU as Erasmus+ project and developed by 5 leading European partners (D&AD, FabLab-IAAC, Kersnikova, Oulu University and ADCE), to create free learning courses and materials to cover the gap between what is taught in education and the skills needed in our industry.
To help achieve these goals the course was able to draw upon lessons for some of the best in the business including:
• Laura Jordan Bambach – Chief Creative Officer at Grey London
• Roberto Fara – Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy Spain
• Gerard Crichlow – Global Strategy Director Interpublic Group (IPG)
• Jordan Devine – Digital Design Director at Design Studio
• Ingrid Picanyol – Creative Director at Ingrid Picanyol Studio
• Anastasia Pistofidou – Founder of Fabricademy
In response to industry needs and student aspirations, The Bridging The Creativity Gap Framework is intricately designed around four pivotal dimensions: Discover (Exploration), Define
(Instrumentation), Develop (Reflection), Deliver (Application).
These dimensions come to life through a comprehensive learning programme that encompasses modules such as The Creative Process, The Brief, Research and Insights, Ideation, Prototyping and Making, Pitching, and Industry Integration.
Each module is uniquely designed to address the three core skills demanded by the creative industry:
– Entrepreneurial mindset;
– Understanding the industry process;
– Strategic and critical thinking.
The course is available free of charge to tutors, students and a wider community looking to develop skills such as ideation & critical thought, entrepreneurial mindset and knowing industry processes in advertising, branding, visual communications, graphic design, service design, product design and interactive design.
The programme is now part of the EU co-founded project Green Futures in collaboration with Clube da Creatividade and Creatives for Climate.
