W6 | Grow Mycelium with your own energy
by Fab Lab Barcelona

What is our relationship with food, do we know its history, do we know how it is produced, do we observe it sufficiently?
In this workshop, participants will learn how to grow mycelium by fermenting tempeh in a special necklace designed for this purpose. Our experts will invite participants to proudly wear a growing mycelial net, observe its growth and understand its values in an intimate and delicate way.
Each participant will receive a necklace kit to repeat the experience at home several times.

Fab Lab Barcelona is a think-and-make laboratory enabling communities globally to harness design and technology for collective transformation. Founded in 2007 as the first European node of the MIT-funded Fab Lab network, the laboratory has been at the forefront of democratising technology and fostering open innovation. Part of a global community of over 2,500 labs, it develops hands-on solutions that activate cities and engage citizens.

Fab Lab Barcelona drives innovation at multiple scales: designing smart devices that enable citizens to collect environmental data (Smart Citizen); developing methods to explore emerging scenarios (Atlas of Weak Signals); embedding maker-centred learning in schools (DTecla), reimagining urban production models (Barcelona Fab City) and supporting emerging European design talents (Distributed Design).

This activity is an original creation by Domingo Club and will be facilitated by them. Rooted in open knowledge and collaborative methodologies, Domingo Club is one of the many esteemed actors hosted and incubated by Fab Lab Barcelona in the Fab City Barcelona ecosystem.
