“How Much Do You Know About Your Body?” is a project that transforms hospital environments into immersive, educational experiences and highlights the connection between humans and nature. Selected by Ülemiste City Company, this project was featured on the walls of Tervisemaja 2 in Tallinn, with 12 murals painted during the summer. The hospital’s Opening Ceremony took place on September 26, and now, the project is evolving into an animated educational platform.
My idea is to show the connection between humans and nature, creating a world where everything flows, breathes, moves, and grows as it does in nature. Could a heart bloom from a flower? Could the nervous system grow like a tree? And for just a moment, could we stop taking everything so seriously?
Hospitals and healthcare institutions have always intimidated me, and many others feel the same way. The uncertainty, the constant waiting, the fear of hearing bad news about ourselves or our loved ones—these feelings are common. My idea is to tell people a story, a fairytale about our bodies! I want to take them, if only briefly, out of the grayness of reality and into a magical world.
My illustrations could become a joyful adventure—a kind of therapy for both adults and children. Each hospital floor would represent a different fairytale, each dedicated to a separate organ system. Hospital visitors would feel like they are on a guided tour, led by a bird traveling through the different systems, inviting them to explore. The inhabitants of this world—small, cheerful figures who manage our body’s systems—would reveal the wonders of their universe. The project is being expanded with animated content, enhancing the educational aspect to bring it to a new level. Who wouldn’t want to journey through seven floors and experience a fairytale that touches us all?
