The aim was to reinforce the National Theatre’s mission to make theatre accessible to more people in more locations than ever before. Starring National Theatre veteran Benedict Cumberbatch, it spotlights a single chair as it goes through a series of different states (oil, fire, sand, balloons, rain, smoke, flowers) to reflect different emotions experienced when watching a National Theatre Live screening (anticipation, suspense, wonder, sorrow, joy, love, fury, disgust)
