In 2002, Swisscom became main sponsor of the Swiss national ski team. In the same season, the International Ski Federation (FIS) introduced the blue and red slope colours at all World Cup races. From this true insight, Swisscom created a fictional legend about the origin of the slope colours with an original slope painter - and thus branded all World Cup races worldwide for free. Today, 72% of Swiss interested in skiing associate the slope colours with Swisscom.
