According to the CAT statistics, 3 out of 4 people who complain about torture in Russia are denied permission to pursue criminal proceedings. The police often justify signs of injury with absurd statements. The system backs police officers’ accounts, not their victims. Created in cooperation with the news portal Meduza, this project includes quotes taken from actual cases of torture.
