Teningurinn or "The Cube" is a new award handed out by the society of engineers to draw attention to outstanding engineering development in Iceland. The design is inspired by the period when the engineering discipline first came to Iceland around 1920 and reflects that in the art history with reference to constructivism. According to the constructivists, art was meant to reflect modern industry and thus make use of the technology that was accessible at any given time.
