In Italy, feminine hygiene products are still considered a luxury, hence there is 22% VAT on these goods. That’s why Selex has decided to support a change introducing The Essential Pads, a special edition of his classic pads, but with the packing and the VAT of an essential good, because most of the tax is payed by Selex. On International Women’s Day, Selex presented this line in its stores, inviting everyone who got to know it to sign a petition to axe the Tampon Tax.
