Some 30% of Germans, Austrians and the Swiss come from immigrant backgrounds, but they are underrepresented in the media. Topics on diversity are barely covered either. New German Media Makers needed to show this disparity. Anyone can buy the rights to name a German weather system, so this campaign purchased the first 13, which were given immigrant names such as Ahmet and Dragica instead of German names. It took the news and weather reports by storm, getting the public's attention overnight.
