Austra Typeface

Austra rationalises Latvian heritage of hand drawn and naive lettering and typography of 1920s into first ever text typeface with Latvian backbone. Borrowing clunky and organic characteristics it results in robust and sturdy letterforms combining with fluid and geometric roundness creating a glitter of text — of which comes the name Austra (latv. sunrise). It consists of 4 weights plus a matching italic and is best used to set large bodies of text.
