Female Gaze Design

Article 3 of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany postulates the equal rights of all people, but in reality there is a male-centered norm that excludes women from society. “Female Gaze Design” investigates the unconscious reproduction of traditional role models in design and presents strategies for designers to counter the Male Gaze.rnThe book shows the many sides of feminism on a visual level, criticises male-dominated design elements and brings the Female Gaze and feminism to the spotlight. A manifesto defines key criteria for “Female Gaze Design” in order to guide designers on how design can bring the Female Gaze to the center of society and thus contribute to change.
