Introduction:rn”I-See” is an assistive tool designed to help visually impaired and blind people – explore & understand the world around them. The project was initiated in September 2023 and is based on the “Open Al Vision” and “Whisper Al” models. Utilizing these models, “I-See” converts user-selected images into text and audio formats. Visually impaired or blind people can interact with “I-See” through dialogue and explore the world through their phone camera.
Project:rnThe project was first initiated to create something for my blind grandmother, who always asks what I do, and since I am a graphic designer, it’s way more complicated than I thought…! The project became so fascinating that it turned into my bachelor’s project. I am very lucky that I had the opportunity to include visually impaired users such as Martynas, who is fully blind but works a full-time job as a bank system accessibility specialist. It was fascinating to learn about the life of a person with visual impairment who lives it more actively than I do. He and his friends not only answered all of my questions but also helped me create the system sound of the I-See tool. I added more detailed descriptions next to the project images.
