Arvad

The Phoenicians were the most remarkable maritime people of antiquity. They brought wine to the Southern Iberian Peninsula in amphorae and clay vessels and taught the Iberians to produce their own wine from the local wild grapes. The Phoenicians settled on the banks of the Arade River and called it Arvad, which means “safe haven”. The label incorporates the shape of a Phoenician amphora decorated with motifs inspired by Phoenician art and their alphabet.
