Excuses

‘Excuses’ is a fashion project by Josefinas – the Portuguese footwear brand— that highlights domestic violence. The collection of t-shirts, illustrated by the iconic British artist Jacqueline Bissett, bear women faces on them. But there’s a twist: the women show signs of abuse. All the t-shirts were printed with victims’ most common excuses to explain their bruises: “I walked into something”, “I ran into a door”, “I fell down the stairs”.
