Hemendik, which means “from here” in Basque, was born to spotlight local creation and the country’s history through 50 objects. Addressing the memory and current affairs of the Basque Country in a book, the Hemendik typeface combines Basque writing with Deco aesthetics. This project straddles the historical and the contemporary. The past explains the present, and history builds the future.
