In Latvia, over 300 critically ill people seek help each year because they cannot afford treatment. Many face cancer or rare diseases without state support — and many feel ashamed to ask. Latvian Radio’s “High Five” marathon answered with “Illness Tears, Hope Heals”. For two months, 10 artisans crocheted posters and a hand-made billboard beside the glass studio where DJs played for donations. Thread by thread, crocheting became the metaphor of connection and healing.
