According to §219a, it is illegal for doctors who offer abortions to inform the public about this practice. However, people unconnected with the medical profession can speak on behalf of these doctors and provide women with the information they need. This awareness campaign, which began with radio spots, was designed to increase pressure on politicians to scrap the law.
