In 2019, after the hottest summer on record, Nordics’ leading newspaper Helsingin Sanomat gifted politicians and decision-makers with the Climate Pen. In collaboration with the Technical Research Centre of Finland, the pen’s ink was made of carbon dioxide. The pen, the journalists’ weapon of choice, encouraged leaders to sign agreements to help solve climate issues. Every signed decision would symbolize a reduction in greenhouse gases.
