When is too much too much?rnAn art installation on excessive media consumption.
PROBLEMrnWe are trapped in the endless feeds of the medial Internet. But we think it’s just a problem for others. Already today, 14 to 27 year-olds spend 7 hours daily online. That’s 72 days a year. A rising trend.rnIDEArnWe scroll, type and consume because we want to be closer to people. But we distance ourselves from them – from our humanity. Expressionless, we are caught up in the maelstrom of feeds. Just like death masks that stare at screens endlessly. rnREALISATIONrnClay imprints of the faces and hands of a wide variety of people were taken for the art installallation. Equipped with smartphones, the masks look at their noisy and endlessly scrolling social media feeds.
